Meet Cosmic Tea: A New Sound from Australia
From Sydney, Australia, comes Cosmic Tea, an exciting new three-piece band bringing together the timeless energy of guitar-driven rock, the melodic sophistication of power pop, and the infectious rhythms of new wave.
Formed around the creative partnership of Chris Macris, Bruno Lobao and Justin Heazlewood, Cosmic Tea combines memorable melodies, rich instrumentation and thoughtful songwriting with a sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary.
Chris Macris leads the band on vocals and guitars, Bruno Lobao provides the driving bass lines, and Justin Heazlewood delivers the rhythmic foundation on drums.
Their musical chemistry is rooted in friendship and a shared philosophy: always serve the song.
Introducing Holiday — Their Debut EP
Scheduled for release on November 10, 2026, Holiday is Cosmic Tea’s first official EP, featuring four original compositions written by Chris Macris.
Produced and mixed by renowned Australian musician and producer Steve Balbi, and mastered by Paul Gomersall, the record blends classic rock influences with modern production techniques.
Across four distinct tracks, the band explores resilience, personal liberation, the pressures of modern life, and the importance of rediscovering freedom and human connection.
Fans of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Cars, Electric Light Orchestra and Creedence Clearwater Revival will find plenty to appreciate in Cosmic Tea’s musical universe.
The Four Tracks
01 — Coming For You
A powerful opening statement built around heavy, swamp-influenced guitar riffs, driving drums and atmospheric organ textures. An anthem of determination and resilience, celebrating the courage to face life’s storms.
02 — I’ve Had Enough of It
An energetic fusion of new wave and melodic rock, combining catchy guitar hooks with an uplifting message about breaking free from frustration, leaving regrets behind and embracing new beginnings.
03 — Working All the Time
A sophisticated, richly layered production exploring modern burnout and our increasingly demanding working lives. Acoustic guitars, keyboards, baritone guitar and lush vocal harmonies create a sound reminiscent of classic ELO productions, while the lyrics question the true cost of constant work.
04 — Holiday
The EP’s uplifting finale. Originally written during the COVID lockdown period, Holiday celebrates travel, friendship, freedom and the simple pleasures of being together. Relaxed grooves, playful guitars and a sunny atmosphere bring the musical journey to a satisfying conclusion.
A Promising New Chapter
With their debut EP, Cosmic Tea introduce themselves as a band with a clear musical identity: strong songwriting, melodic arrangements and an appreciation for the classic sounds of rock and pop.
Holiday is more than a collection of four songs. It is a musical journey from struggle and frustration toward optimism, freedom and reconnection.
