Still Got The Blues is the eighth solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released on March 26, 1990. This LP marked a significant shift in style for Moore, who prior to this album, was primarily known for his rock and hard rock music with Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, G-Force, Greg Lake, but also during his own extensive solo career, as well as his jazz-fusion work with Colosseum II. As its title suggests, Still Got The Blues opened his entrance to electric blues.

The album also features guest musicians such as Albert King, Albert Collins and George Harrison.

The title track was released as a single and reached No. 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 on February 16, 1991. To date, it is Moore’s only single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

The album peaked at number 83 on the Billboard 200 on February 16, 1991, and was subsequently certified gold in the US in November 1995. This was Gary Moore’s most successful album in both sales and chart positions in the US.

So after a brief stint with Thin Lizzy in the late seventies and a series of overlooked solo albums during the eighties, Gary Moore finally got his true comeuppance as a hard rockin’ bloozer on this amazing mix of covers and originals released shortly before Stevie Ray Vaughan’s untimely death.

Moore’s axe-sharp music and impassioned vocals yielded his only radio hit, “Still Got The Blues”, a ballad cousin to “Parisienne Walkaways,” which he co-wrote with Thin’s Lizzy Phil Lynott. Of course, fans of these elevated dreamscapes will also appreciate the wonderful and passionate renditions of “As The Years Go Passing By” and “Midnight Blues”. On the tracks “Texas Strut” and “King Of The Blues”, his effort and role are outstanding. It also draws strength from wild covers of tracks signed by R’n’B legends such as Johnny “Guitar” Watson, Albert King and Peter Green, even George Harrison’s “That Kind Of Woman” gets the baptism of “more is Moore “.

Still Got The Blues is a towering and bombastic collection of electric blues tracks in its own right and is Gary Moore’s deeply underrated shining moment.

Through this excellent album we selecte the title track “Still Got The Blues”.
